It was a night of vows and wows. The resplendent bride in a series of dazzling gowns and the bright-eyed groom, celebrities in their own right and the happy couple in a wedding to remember.
Rasri Balenciaga and Patsarakorn Chirathivat, better known as Margie and Pok, were all elegant, smiling and sentimental in their wedding reception last Sunday at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld. Presiding over the ceremony was Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam, who honoured the matrimonial celebration along with the couple's parents. The groom was the son of Suthikiati Chirathivat, chairman of the board of directors of the Bangkok Post Group and chairman of Centara Hotels and Resorts, and former Miss Universe Apasra Hongsakula; the bride was the daughter of Michael J. Honnold and Orasri Balenciaga.
Patsarakorn and Rasri were officially wedded on Dec 8 in a ceremony royally sponsored by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. On Dec 24, they held a press conference in the afternoon and later moved to receive more than a thousand guests in the ballroom.
The decoration was tasteful and sophisticated with a combination of silver and grey, the couple's favourites, with their initials "M&P" -- Margie and Pok -- emblazoned everywhere. In one busy day, the bride was dressed in four different gowns, each of them spectacular in its own way: one during the press conference, one while she and Patsarakorn received guests; one as they walked up to cut the cake; and one at the after party.
Besides businessmen, politicians and family friends, the reception was a cheerful gathering of celebrities and actors, such as Urassaya Sperbund, Janie Thienphosuvan, Davika Hoorne, Cherman Boonyasak, Wuttitorn Milintachinda, Mai Charoenpura, Patricia Good and many more.
