'Partner won't stop taking bites of my food - I kicked her out after deranged final act'

A man has reached the end of his tether after his girlfriend refused to stop taking bites of his food - and has now made her homeless. Most of us have to learn to deal with our partners' odd habits, but it went too far for one chap who felt he had no other option but to kick her out.

The 22-year-old, who is in his first serious relationship, has been with his 25-year-old girlfriend for just under a year and she moved into his home three months ago. Things started of well, but he quickly began to notice her strange habit every time they went out for food - and soon it turned quite sinister.

A load of us know the feeling of your partner stealing a chip or taking a bite out of you dessert, but this was much weirder as the girlfriend always insisted on having the very first bite of her boyfriend's food.

"In actual classy places she would take the first chunk of my steak/salmon/cake," he explained on Reddit. "You name it she would take the first bite. I had several talks with her about this, but she said it was cute and not sinister."

When the girlfriend got a training opportunity, the boyfriend offered to let her live with him rent free so she could have a much shorter commute.

But this was only under the condition that she "stopped this behaviour", which worked for the first month and then she slipped back into old habits.

Now she is fully back in her old ways - and a major turning point happened last weekend when the boyfriend baked a cake.

He explained: "After dividing it into eight I left it in the fridge while I went out with a friend. Usually when I bake and friends drop me off I will fetch a few slices and thank them for the lift home with the cake.

"Imagine my surprise when I saw that each piece had a bite taken. I phoned my friend that I owed him cake and he needn't wait for me to come back down.

"I was angry. I told her that she embarrassed me and we needed to figure out a solution. She went defensive and said she ate it due to loving me so much. That all women do this and guys love it.

The poster said he made it very clear that unless his girlfriend stopped biting his food then there "would be consequences".

The following day he bought a lockbox to keep in the fridge, which made her "livid", but worked for a short period of times.

However, he added: "Next day I bought a lockbox for the fridge. She was livid, but couldn't do much. Last night she broke the lock and had taken a bite out of all my snacks and two slices of baguettes in there.

"I told her to pack her stuff and leave while I stay with my mother for a few hours. She called me an 'a*****le' for making her homeless and possibly ruining her employment opportunities."

People in the comments section were completely on the guy's side - and claimed the situation was very strange.

One person said: "This is very weird behavior. She's ignoring your boundaries, and then she's using your inexperience against you to manipulate you into thinking this is "normal". This is not a person who is acting in good faith here."

Another added: "Right? My close friends and I often share food, but we ask first. There’s a huge difference between taking the first bite of everything automatically and asking to have a bite.

"And a bite taken out of each cake slice is clearly on purpose! Why take a bite out of eight slices when you could take a slice for yourself? This is bizarre behavior."
