Partner promotions at Anthony Collins Solicitors and more appointments news

Birmingham law firm Anthony Collins has appointed three new partners as part of a round of promotions at the practice.

David Evison is a personal injury and clinical negligence specialist who joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2008.

Emma Hardman, who also joined in 2008, leads the firm's housing management and Right to Buy teams while Sarah Patrice's promotion follows a 20-year career at Anthony Collins Solicitors where she now leads its governance and commercial team.

The other promotions are Sarah Huntbach and Alex Tindall becoming legal directors within the personal injury and clinical negligence and property teams respectively.

In the private client practice, Andrew Crumpton and Doug Houghton have both been made senior associates and Kelly Brown an associate.

In its corporate litigation team, Richard Burton has become a senior associate, with Rhys Baker promoted to associate.

Hannah Bollard also moves to associate in the employment and pensions team, with Penny Bournes and Martin Brown also promoted to associate in the property and construction teams.

Senior partner Peter Hubbard said: "In their new roles, David, Emma and Sarah will play a key role in driving the firm's social purpose mission forward, supporting our growth and ability to continue improving lives, communities and society."

In other appointments news, Birmingham tech company Intercity Technology has appointed Christina Pendleton to the role of chief people officer.

She joined the organisation as an HR adviser in 2014 before being appointed to the board of directors as head of people and engagement in 2020.

Her new position follows the development and implementation of the firm's staff strategy during the covid-19 pandemic.

Black Country law firm Talbots has recruited two new directors as it expands its corporate and commercial offering.

Shaun Owen and Mike Linford have more than 50 years of legal experience between them, advising owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, SMEs and multinationals on a host of corporate matters such as mergers, acquisitions and sales.

They will work with clients in a broad range of sectors including automotive, construction, IT, manufacturing and professional services.

Marketing and communications agency McCann has strengthened its management board at its Solihull operation with the promotion of Ruepal Aujla to the newly created role of group diversity and inclusion officer.

She joined McCann ten years ago and will add this new responsibility to her current role as managing partner within the media division.

Built environment communications consultancy BECG has appointed Verity Barr as a director to lead its Birmingham office in a move aimed at strengthening its presence across the Midlands.

She joins from PR agency Camargue and brings more than 20 years of experience in built environment communications, having worked across the energy and house building sectors.

Ms Barr will lead BECG's work in the Midlands for international supermarket chain Aldi and Birmingham-based property developer St Modwen.

Transport planning, engineering and placemaking consultancy PJA has appointed John Myatt as an associate director in its Birmingham headquarters.

Mr Myatt will lead and grow the agency's public sector transport planning offer in the Midlands.

He joins from Birmingham City Council where he was most recently transport planning and investment manager.

He has extensive experience of the development and management of local authority capital programmes and transport strategies.

Solihull-based V12 Vehicle Finance has appointed David Nield as its new managing director.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in the finance industry to his new role including senior positions at Barclays, Iveco Capital Europe and GE Capital Motor Finance.

Mr Nield was formerly Secure Trust Bank's chief operating officer, a role he held for eight years, and has been part of Secure Trust Bank and its subsidiaries since 2009.

Business brokerage practice Business Partnership has boosted its West Midlands operation with the appointment of Nabil Jaber as regional partner for Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

Mr Jaber has experience of acquisitions, disposals, start-ups and turnarounds after he swapped the engineering career he had followed after graduating from university for being his own boss.

Business Partnership has four regional partners in the West Midlands who offer a brokerage service to business buyers and sellers.

Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has added two team members to its partnership in the West Midlands.

Helen Brocklebank has been with RSM for 13 years and is experienced working with large corporates and owner-managed businesses, advising on mid-market transactions and deals including private equity and debt-backed management buyouts, disposals, acquisitions and development fundraising.

Phil Parkes joins from Deloitte where he spent 12 years serving clients in the West Midlands.

He is an experienced due diligence practitioner providing buy side, sell side and transaction assist services to clients.
