Partner of 'outstanding' dad tried to revive him in front of heartbroken kids

A mum desperately tried to revive her partner in front of their two young children.

Damien Jones went to bed "laughing and joking" with his partner Amelia Louise on Monday night.

When she woke up the next day the 39-year-old, who went by the name Dash, was "blue in the face", Daily Post reported.

Amelia Louise frantically tried to revive her partner of eight years while children David-Lloyd, 5, and Esme-Rose, 3, watched on.

Sadly her efforts proved in vain.

Dash was pronounced dead on Tuesday by paramedics when they arrived at the family home in Wrexham.

A bereft Amelia Louise said: "I am heartbroken and I feel empty, my life will never be the same but I must remain strong for our babies.

"We went to bed as normal on Monday, laughing and joking no issues and when I woke up he was just lay there, so still, blue in the face and as I called out his name and started shaking him I knew there was an issue.

"After having doing CPR for more than 20-minutes, whilst our babies lay there watching I couldn't accept when the ambulance told me he had passed."

Amelia went on to express the depth of her loss.

"He was my king and I was his queen, together forever we told one another," she said.

"After trying for years to build a family, having lost several babies this was all Damien wanted, a life where he could be happy in himself and the people surrounding him."

A GoFundMe page has now been set up by family friend Samantha Davies to support the family to help with the funeral costs.

Amelia explained how much that gesture meant to the family.

"Damien was loved by so many people, and his heart had room for everyone," she said.

"My friend Samantha started the fundraiser and I can't thank everyone enough for their donations and messages they've sent me over the past few days.

"David-Lloyd and Esme-Rose are all I have left of him and the fundraiser will ensure Damien gets the send of that he fully deserves."

The fundraising page describes Damien as a "top lad, the light of the party and lit up everyone’s hearts with his laughter and character".

The fundraiser has been set up with an initial target of £950, which will help fund a white horse and carriage.

Any additional money raised over the amount needed for the full costs of the funeral will be donated to a charity fund of the family’s choice.

The family have stated they are awaiting the results of a post-mortem to find out the cause of Damien's death.

They said he had popped into hospital on the Saturday with breathing issues but was sent home due to being told it was believed to be muscular pain.
