Partner of Evan Reid pays tribute to 'young warrior' after Irvine dad's tragic death

The devastated partner of Irvine man Evan Reid has paid tribute to "the most amazing person" after his body was tragically discovered earlier this week.

Nicole Murray said that her heart is "completely broken" in an emotional social media post remembering the much loved dad-of-one.

Following a balloon release held in Evan's memory, Nicole pledged to be "strong" for their young daughter Remi.

She wrote: "Three weeks today since our world turned upside down. I have tried to write something so many times, I have so much to say but the words don't seem to come together.

"You truly were the most amazing person not only to me and Remi but to so many other people, you were an inspiration to so many and always will be.

"Our hearts are completely broken and will never fully heal.

"I will be stong for our daughter who will have the world like we had planned for her. I will make you so proud and I know you are looking over us.

"Me, Remi, family and friends will always remember the amazing times with you, you gave us all so many.

"I want to thank everyone for their messages, I haven't replied but I have read every one and they mean so much. Evan - our young warrior."

Tributes have poured in from friends since Evan's body was sadly discovered more than two weeks on from his disappearance.

The 31-year-old was last seen getting off a train in Paisley after a night out with friends in Glasgow.

In one of his final messages to Nicole before he left the train, he said that "something dodgy" was going on.

Tragically, his body was discovered in the White Cart Water on April 10.

Police said there were no apparent suspicious circumstances relating to Evan's death. A report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
