It is now two months since Boris Johnson ordered a third lockdown in England.
On January 4, the Prime Minister rolled out tough restrictions banning all the everyday things we before took for granted.
The rules were largely the same as the first two lockdowns, with some additional restrictions put in place this year.
But despite this there are still some in Merseyside who just can't seem to get to grips with the rules, resulting in them being slapped with some expensive fines.
Rule-breakers have been fined for a whole host of scenarios including hosting house parties, beach trips and for not wearing a face covering inside a store.
Here we take a look back at some of the recent fines.
Lockdown party inside of hotel
Unbelievably, groups of young people held parties inside of a city centre hotel.
As coronavirus cases were soaring in the country, a mass lockdown breach was going on at the Richmond Hotel, on Hatton Garden, on January 31.
Officers attending were told door staff “acted like a meet and greet” to people entering the hotel to break lockdown restrictions.
The receptionist on duty told officers that it was “not his responsibility” to enforce coronavirus legislation as gangs of young people partied in the floors above.
The hotel’s owner, Steven Hesketh, appeared before members of the council’s licensing committee after the incident, which he said was the result of a unique set of circumstances.
Mr Hesketh had previously acknowledged the hotel’s failings and said it had severed ties with employees involved on that night as well as the third party firm it had contracted to carry out security.
Police said in their original incident report, later submitted to the council, that there were between 150 and 200 people at the hotel but Sergeant Craig Carmichael from Merseyside Police later confirmed the number was likely “in excess of 50”.
All of the people dealt with by police were under the age of 30, with one being a 17-year-old.
The raid saw a number of arrests, including a woman arrested for breaching coronavirus legislation and for two counts of assaulting a police officer.
A man was also arrested as he was wanted by police in connection with an existing warrant.
'Nipping to the shop' with no mask
A Bootle man was hit with a £100 fine by police after ‘nipping’ back to the shop with no face covering.
The incident, which happened on Roughwood Drive in Kirkby on Tuesday, February 23, was captured on camera.
Mobile phone footage shows two police officers issuing Twitter user @Scouse_Da_ with a fine.
In the video, he can be heard saying: “I carry masks, I do everything that I do, I play by the rules and I’ve made one mistake today.”
“I wear these, I carry these day in and day out. You got out of your car on toes and you wanted me then."
One of the police officers responds by saying: “Regardless of what’s happened, you’ve gone into the shop without a mask on. If you want to contest it then you can.”
Speaking to the Echo, the 33-year-old said: “It was totally out of order the way they carried on. There was no option of a warning, nothing like that, it was straight to the fine.
“It is to protect everybody, I get it and I play by the rules, but I made one mistake."
Failing to quarantine after Dubai holiday
A Merseyside couple were hit with a £10,000 fine each after failing to quarantine after they came back from a Dubai holiday.
Police confirmed that in a blatant breach of Covid travel rules, the man and woman from Wirral failed to quarantine after returning home from Dubai, which is currently on the foreign travel red list.
The Birkenhead couple were slapped with fines totalling £20,000 for the staggering rule breach.
Currently, the regulations mean that you must quarantine in a government approved hotel for 10 days if returning from a red list destination like Dubai.
Chief Inspector Chris Barnes said: “Strict rules around international travel have been put in place by the government for a reason, and to disregard them in this way is selfish, inconsiderate, and potentially dangerous.
“Currently, the regulations mean that if you are a British or Irish National, or you have residence rights in the UK and are returning from a country on the foreign travel red list, you must quarantine in a government approved hotel for 10 days. If you are required to quarantine at a hotel, you can only arrive in England at certain ports of entry."
20 fines handed out for beach trips
Hundreds of cars were turned away from Formby Beach as police handed out 20 coronavirus fines.
People were found to have travelled from as far as Leeds, Stockport, and Manchester to visit the beauty spot in Sefton last Sunday, in blatant breaches of current lockdown restrictions.
The streets surrounding the beach were gridlocked and the car park was full, as officers turned over one hundred cars away from the area.
Around 20 people were issued with fines of £200 in the form of fixed penalty notices for breaching Covid restrictions.
Officers from Merseyside Police slammed those "flagrantly flouting the rules" and said people should be following the guidelines "now more than ever", so that we can meet the criteria for easing lockdown restrictions in the months ahead.
Community Policing Superintendent Graeme Robson said: “This is totally unacceptable and shows a complete disregard for the government guidance, which is in place to protect not only ourselves but others around us.
"To flagrantly flout the rules in this way is not only reckless and irresponsible, but can result in a substantial fine, as we have seen.
House party calling officers away from duty
Four people were hit with fines after they were caught by police returning home from a house party.
Widnes Police said the four fines were issued for Covid breaches after the group attended a house party in St Helens, believed to have been held in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police said they had to deal with the breaches while already called out to other emergencies including a serious domestic assault.
Posting on their official Facebook page, a spokesperson for Widnes Police said: "Busy start to the shift for E Block.
"Four fines issued for Covid breaches following individuals coming from St Helen's for a house party, all while managing two scenes and supporting a vulnerable victim after a serious domestic assault."

Illegal party in music studio
A police officer was attacked as he broke up an illegal gathering at a music studio.
Officers arrived at the industrial unit on Paul Street in Vauxhall after reports that a large number of people had gathered at 12.30am earlier the year in February.
In total 19 people were issued with £800 fixed penalty notices for being part of a gathering of more than 15 people.
During the visit, a police officer who attended at the scene was assaulted and two people were arrested.
A 23 year-old man, from Southport, was given a conditional caution for assault by beating of an emergency worker and possession of a Class A controlled drug (cocaine).
And a 24 year-old man, from Southport, was also given a conditional caution for assault by beating of an emergency worker and attempt to possess a controlled drug of Class B (ketamine).
Both men were also given Covid fines.
