Partick Thistle defender Jack McMillan attracts Dundee 'interest'

Partick Thistle defender Jack McMillan is a transfer target for Dundee, according to a report.

The 26-year-old has entered the final six months of his Firhill deal, so he can speak to any interested clubs under freedom of contract rules.

The right-back has been a standout performer for the Jags as they aim to secure another Championship play-off spot.

And Courier Sport states that his performances have attracted the interest of Dundee.

The report says that while right-back is not a priority position for manager Tony Docherty in this window, the Dens Park boss recognises that interest in McMillan is likely to be high, so stealing a march on a pre-contract could be the way forward.

Dundee are said to be likely to chase a striker and a left-back this month, especially having lost Owen Beck, who was recalled from his loan by Liverpool.

Thistle is determined to hold on to McMillan who joined permanently in 2022 after a loan spell from Livingston.

Meanwhile, Celtic have recalled Adam Montgomery from his loan spell at Fleetwood Town.

The left-back joined the League One side in the summer back when former Hoops captain Scott Brown was in charge of the club.

The Parkhead legend was relieved of his duties in early September, though.

Ex-Hibernian boss Lee Johnson came in, however, he was also dismissed by the club in that time.

Montgomery - who enjoyed a successful season-long loan at St Johnstone last term - made just six appearances for Fleetwood, with injuries playing their part.

It remains to be seen if he will now be sent out on loan to another team by Brendan Rodgers or used as left-back cover in the first team fold.
