Partick Thistle chairman shares tweet showing injured wrist after celebrating Jags win against Ayr United

A football chairman took one for the team last night - after injuring herself celebrating a vital three points.

Partick Thistle chief, Jacqui Low, led joyous scenes at full time as the Jags beat Ayr United 1-0 at Somerset Park.

The win moves Gary Caldwell's men five points clear of the Championship basement.

And relieved Jacqui took to Twitter today to share a picture of her swolen wrist picked up in the directors' box.

Gary Harkins laughs off some strong words from the Ayr support (SNS Group)

She joked: "In the excitement at the end of the game last night, I whacked my wrist on metal bar in directors' box.

"Bruise coming up nicely. But worth it."

Shea Gordon's first half strike hauled the Jags up to sixth as they put themselves on the verge of a great escape from relegation trouble.

But boss Caldwell said: "League tables are irrelevant and it was just another three points."
