Partick road crash sees motorcyclist rushed to hospital

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital following a collision with a van in the city.

The incident took place on Dumbarton Road in the Partick area around 8.55am this morning.

The road was subsequently closed off to traffic as police and emergency services attended the scene.

Police have since confirmed that the rider was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The road was then reopened to traffic round 9.50am.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We received a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a van on Dumbarton Road around 8.55am on Saturday, 13 March.

"The rider was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The road was opened around 9.50am."
