A brand new Italian bakery and coffee shop has opened in Shawlands today.
After months of hard work in converting the former YZ Stores Groceries and Newsagents, Partenope has arrived on the junction of Hector Road and Tassie Street.
And from the beautiful new south side food spot, husband and wife duo Toni and Sara will be serving up their fresh bread, cakes, pizza, focaccia, coffees and more Italian-inspired sweets and treats.
Speaking previously to Glasgow Live, Sara told us: "Toni makes a fab wee loaf of bread and focaccia and I enjoy making coffees and having a chat with customers.
"When he moved over from Italy six years ago he wanted to open a wee bakery but I was a little apprehensive and then last year - you know, during a global pandemic - we just decided to go for it.
"So we will be selling fresh bread, cakes, pizza and focaccia, sandwiches, soups, salads etc.
"We also plan on selling homemade jars of jam, granola and fresh homemade pastas to take home and cook yourself.
"We looked for a shop for a year and I’m so happy we came across this one as the people are great.
"All our Shawlands neighbours have been so helpful and encouraging."
Partenope, at 75 Hector Road, is open from 7.30am until sell out.
