Part of the Barton Hill Banksy artwork is being sold on eBay

Flowers from the newest Banksy in Bristol have been taken from the artwork and put up for sale on eBay.

The piece of street art, which shows a young child using a slingshot to create an explosion of rose petals, appeared in Barton Hill the day before Valentine's Day.

Banksy himself then confirmed the artwork was his work at midnight on his official Instagram account and his website.

However, just days after the graffiti appeared, the artwork was vandalised and sprayed over.

Now flowers from the artwork have reportedly been taken and sold on eBay, with pictures appearing to show 'Flowers From Banksy Art" being sold on the auction website for £31.

Pictures show the artwork in Barton Hill and then petals in what appears to be someone's home.

One resident, who saw the flowers being sold on the website, said: "Someone has taken some of the flowers from Banksy’s new artwork for the Bristol community to enjoy and tried to sell them for their own personal gain.

"I think this is appalling behaviour."

The new Banksy has also been covered up with a plank of wood in order to protect it from being vandalised further.

Edwin Simons, who owns the house where the Banksy appeared, described the vandalism as "an absolute shame".

He said: "It makes me feel sick - I have had to step back from it as it upsets me too much.

"I can't go look at it now."

The piece joins Banksy's other array of famous graffiti pieces throughout Bristol, including The Mild Mild West, Gorilla in a Pink Mask and Well Hung Lover.

The work has brought increased visitors and tourists to the Barton Hill area of Bristol, as people from around the world continue to visit the city Banksy first came from.
