Part of A470 shut after World War II device found near reservoir

A suspected World War II device has been found near a reservoir in mid Wales.

Dyfed Powys Police said the discovery was made near the Cantref reservoir in Powys on Friday morning.

Part of the A470 has been closed as they wait for a bomb disposal team to arrive.

The road is shut from the southern end of the A470 at Nantddu Lodge.

The A470/A4059 junction has also bee been closed as a precaution.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix is reporting that traffic is slow in the area and police are diverting motorists in the area.

A spokesman for Dyfed Powys Police said: "Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team on its way."
