Parris Campbell would enjoy staying in Ohio and playing for the Browns

Most Cleveland Browns fans are familiar with Parris Campbell. The Ohio State wideout is from Northeast Ohio, a product of Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary, the same school that brought us LeBron James. Campbell turned in a big season in 2018 for the big school in Columbus, catching 88 passes for over 1,000 yards and scoring 12 TDs.

Campbell built upon his strong senior year with a good weekend in Indianapolis at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine. The former running back blazed a 4.31 40-yard dash and a 40-inch vertical jump, both among the best of any participant.

During his media session, the 205-pound speedster talked about how great it would be to stay near home and play for the Browns.

“Definitely would be cool to stay in Ohio,” Campbell told the assembled media Friday. “I’d be an hour up the road, so it would definitely be cool. But any team that takes a chance on me, I’d be honored.”

He brought up his close family, notably his mother, being able to see him play in Cleveland.

“It would be huge. I think my mom would love it for sure. I’d be right up the road. She loves seeing all my games.”

Campbell continued upon the theme,

“It would be nice, honestly. My family, just throughout my entire career, have been right by my side. Never once slacked, never once failed, never missed a game, never missed anything. They were just always there for me, and they’re the reason I’m the man I am today and the reason I’m the player I am today. So it would be huge.”
