Parris Campbell listed as scouting combine fit for Redskins

The Washington Redskins have plenty of needs heading into the scouting combine, with wideout firmly standing as one of the most prominent.

It isn’t surprising, then, to see NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah and Lance Zierlein list Ohio State wideout Parris Campbell as a target the Redskins should have an eye on during the lengthy event:  “The Redskins might look to add to their pass rush in the first round, but receiver will be on their radar. Campbell has outstanding speed and may be able to transcend how he was used at Ohio State — often as a catch-and-run target rather than a downfield receiver — but the combine could play a big part in determining that.”

Campbell is a 6’1″, 208-pound wideout coming off a 1,000-yard season with the Buckeyes in which he scored 12 touchdowns. He was one of the nation’s top big-play threats all season:

The Redskins would love to have this sort of skill set on the roster to help a shaky quarterback situation. Paul Richardson struggled after coming over in free agency and Josh Doctson has yet to break out the way the staff envisioned.

Campbell, at least for now, looks like a second-round pick and a worthwhile name for Redskins fans to know going into the event.
