Parnell Road, Dolphins Barn closed after Storm Dennis damages building roof

Dublin Fire Brigade were forced to close a busy road after Storm Dennis damaged a building on the street.

The Parnell Road and Dolphin's Barn junction was closed off while firefighters worked to make the roof of the building safe are howling winds caused extensive damage.

Traffic diversions were put in place while emergency services worked on the building.

 

DFB shared pictures of the incident on Twitter.

Storm Dennis continues to cause havoc as it batters the country.

Met Eireann issued another Status Yellow wind warning for nine counties this evening.

The warning is for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

 

It reads: "Southwest winds, veering westerly will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h, strongest on exposed coasts and hills, with a risk of coastal flooding."

The counties affected are the same nine for which a Status Orange wind warning was issued yesterday afternoon.

That warning remains in place until 10pm and is succeeded by the Status Yellow warning above.
