Parking tickets issued to long line of vehicles near Snowdon

Footage has emerged of a long line of vehicles parked in Snowdonia with yellow and black tickets on their windscreens.

The vehicles are believed to have been given tickets for parking on Pen y Pass heading towards Gwynant on Easter Sunday.

Liz Jones filmed the long line of cars parked either side of the road and estimated there to be between 50 and 100 vehicles with tickets, North Wales Live reports.

Hundreds of people are believed to have headed to Snowdon over the Easter weekend with walkers reporting huge queues at the summit of the mountain.

Ms Jones said: "I was sat in the passenger seat of the car and saw all the tickets as we drove along. There must have been around 50 to 100 that had been fined.

"At first I didn't see the signs but then looking back at the video I saw two signs warning people. We managed to drive through fine and so did others coming the other way but it was obstructive for people walking - they would have to come on to the road to get by."

It was also busy on the A470 in the Brecon Beacons over the weekend with more than two miles of cars parked on the side of the road as people climbed Pen y Fan.

The cars, which normally just occupy the Storey Arms car parks, were backed up beyond the traditional car parks beyond the Beacons Reservoir.
