Parked vehicles stolen in Hyde Park: police

Chicago police are warning Hyde Park residents about a series of recent vehicle thefts near the University of Chicago campus on the South Side.

Vehicle owners have been parking on the street and coming back to find their vehicle missing, Chicago police said.

The thefts have happened at all hours of the day between Sept. 4 and Sept. 12, police said. The vehicles were stolen from:

· The 5600 block of South Lake Park Avenue;

· The 5700 block of South Stony Island Avenue; and

· The 5900 block of South Woodlawn Avenue.

Police did not provide a description of any suspects.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
