Fury after beautiful South Dublin park turned into 'dumping ground'

Locals are furious after a picturesque south Dublin park has been turned into a "dumping ground for waste".

These images, shared by Knocklyon Network, show rubbish carelessly strewn across Dodder Valley Park.

The local residents' Facebook group has called on the South Dublin County Council to address the problem.

They said: "Dodder Valley Park is the regional park for Knocklyon, Firhouse, and Bohernabreena. The Greenway is bringing a big step forward and is very welcome.

"The promised playspaces and play trail will be a further improvement. But still, we have the park year after year being used as a dumping ground for waste.

"It is time our Council addressed this problem and also that all 11 Councillors in our area insisted that this problem to be solved (sic).

"The Greenway works does not include cleaning up the rubbish in these photos. We want a clean, safe park for adults and children."
