A long-running shop on Park Street has closed down - and another nearby business which also traded for decades is on its last legs.
With one of the biggest collections of vintage clothing anywhere in Bristol, BS8 was popular with shoppers of all ages.
Having opened in the early 1990s it stocked a wide range of brands including Bellfield, Native Youth, Glamorous, AX Paris, Levi's and Nicce.
But after nearly 30 years of trading it has now closed - and it isn't the only stalwart departing Park Street.
Federation Piercing, located just a minute's walk away, has revealed it is also shutting up shop.
A member of staff at the studio, which also stocks gifts, clothing and accessories, told Bristol Live the business is likely to close in February - although it could be "finished before then" if another lockdown is announced.
He said the lease on the property is coming to an end and the owner, Mario, who launched the business around 30 years ago, is taking retirement.
"It feels like the end of an era with two long-running shops both closing around the same time," he said. "It's definitely a shame for the area.
"There seems to be a shift towards student accommodation in Bristol at the moment, as we've seen on Park Street in recent years, and I worry the city is heading in a direction where there will only be a few watering holes and student flats in a few years' time."
Federation Piercing has a rating of 4.5 / 5 from 80 reviews on Google while BS8 had a rating of 4.8 / 5.
Bristol Live has asked BS8 why it closed and is awaiting a response.
