Park set on fire by teen yobs as West Lothian lockdown crime continues

Since Prime Minister announced that the UK would be on lockdown just over a week ago, Edinburgh Live have been reporting on disturbances caused by those not adhering to the government's strict guidelines on coronavirus.

Yesterday we reported on West Lothian locals being warned to stay vigilant when it comes to hand washing after teenagers were spotting spitting on cash machines in West Calder.

A pharmacy in Bathgate was raided of prescription medicines on Sunday (29 March) and dog-walkers in Livingston were warned after huge amounts of broken glass littered a popular walk - allegedly caused by youngsters smashing bottles on purpose.

Today images of a huge fire in a local park in Boghall next to Bathgate were shared in a local community Facebook group - showing the remains of a bonfire and extensive fly-tipping.

The post read: "It's a disgrace. You know who you are - hang your heads in shame."

Another user added that a park in Bathgate was also being vandalised: "There are guys riding motorbikes up the cycle path and onto Meadow Park, then onto Glasgow Road churning up grass in the park."

Edinburgh Live have contacted Police Scotland for comment.
