Park Inn stabbing: major road closures to remain in place until further notice

Several city centre roads have been shut down following yesterday's major police incident in which six people were injured.

A suspect was shot dead by armed police after emergency services raced to the Park Inn Hotel on West George Street shortly before 1pm yesterday afternoon.

One of the victims is a 42-year-old police officer who is described as being in a 'critical, but stable' condition. Two teenagers have also been hospitalised.

A significant police presence remains in Glasgow city centre this morning as the investigation into the incident continues.
