Park cordoned off after man's body pulled from lake

A man's body was found in a lake in a Wallasey Park this morning.

The man's body was found in the Central Park lake around 6.30am and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A large police cordon is in place around the lake  and investigations are ongoing at the scene to discover the circumstances of the man's death.

ECHO readers have message for bride and groom who have banned guests from watching Liverpool in Champions' League final  

White screens have been put up on the path by the side of the lake while police investiage.

Pictures also show at least seven police vehicles, including a forensic unit and firefighters who helped pull the body from the lake.

The man has not been identified yet.

A Merseyside Police Spokesman told the ECHO:"We can confirm that emergency services are in Wallasey this morning (Monday 20 May) following the discovery of a body. 

Police and the fire service are at the scene (Liverpool Echo)



"At around 6.30am, police were called to the report of a man's body being found at the lake in Central Park, Liscard Road, Wallasey. The man was pronounced dead at the location. 

"Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and notify his next of kin."
