Park and ride site closed after Storm Dennis will not re-open this week

The Queens Drive Park and Ride site in Nottingham will not reopen this week.

Nottingham City Transport tweeted on Monday afternoon, February 24, saying it had been informed of the situation by Nottingham City Council.

"The water has receded enough for clearing rubbish and debris to begin but the electrical infrastructure on-site needs further assessment and repair," the bus company tweeted.

The site has remained closed for a week following Storm Dennis.

Heavy rain fell overnight from Saturday, February 15, and led to the Cocker Beck brook, in Lowdham, bursting its banks - leaving more than 50 homes flooded by  murky flood water.

Among those affected were a family of a mother recovering from breast cancer whose home was flooded.
