One of the suspects of the Paris terror attacks is believed to have escaped to Syria, according to a source close to the investigation.
A manhunt was launched to find 26-year-old Salah Abdeslam, following the three attacks which killed 130 people and injured hundreds more on 13 November.
CNN reported that intelligence services in France thought Abdeslam, who was born in Brussels, had fled to the Middle Eastern country.
He is believed to be the tenth suspect involved in the attacks. The other nine people are all dead.
Although Abdeslam's car was stopped three times after the attacks including near the Belgian border, police let him go because he was not on their wanted list at the time. Two others were also in the car.
An investigation is underway to establish whether Abdeslam could have been part of a fourth attack which never took place.
Responsibility for the attacks, which took place at different locations in Paris including the Stade de France and the Bataclan concert hall, was claimed by militant Isis.
