Paris terror attacks: Investigators uncover final text message before assault reading ‘OK we’re ready’

A final text message sent by one of the terrorists ahead of the brutal attacks in Paris has been uncovered by police, reading: “OK, we’re ready”.

CNN reports investigators have recovered multiple mobile phones - all believed to have belonged to the militants - from the scenes of the attacks in the French capital.

According to counter-terrorism officials who spoke to the broadcaster, one of the phones held a last text message containing words to the effect of: “OK, we’re ready”.

The investigators added that the phones also contained encrypted apps, which appear to have left no trace of messages or who had received them.

The phone containing the text message is understood to have been found in a bin outside the Bataclan concert hall, the Daily Mail reports, where 89 of the victims were killed.

The news comes after French officials revealed they were hunting for a second fugitive after security surveillance footage showed a third figure may have been riding in the black Seat used by the attackers.

The possible ninth assailant has not been named but is being sought in addition to Salah Abdeslam, a Belgiun-based Frenchman who is on the run and wanted on an international arrest warrant.
