Paris Saint-Germain confirm double injury blow ahead of Manchester United fixture

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed Paris Saint-Germain will be without injured duo Marco Verratti and Leandro Paredes for their Champions League meeting with Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side travel to Paris on Tuesday night as they take on the French champions in their opening match of Group H.

United know they face a difficult test if they are to get anything from the fixture against the side which finished runners-up in the competition last season.

However, they might have a better chance after Tuchel provided some team news, with midfield duo Verratti and Paredes both definitely out of the match through injury.

PSG were handed some positive news at least with Marquinhos and Julian Draxler both in contention to feature after recent injury problems.

"For the team, Marquinhos and Julian Draxler are expecting to start practise with us and we hope they will be able to play with us, other players will be missing like Verratti, Paredes, definitely missing for tomorrow," Tuchel said at his pre-match press conference on Monday.

"Our memories against Manchester, obviously we don't have very, very good memories.

"We had a good result at Old Trafford, in the end it wasn't a great outcome for us, but we had a very great run last season for the Champions League and now it's a challenge not to think too much about last season and two seasons ago... we have to overcome these difficulties, show what we are able to do now and start this new Champions League with zero points."
