Paris journalism school director accused of plagiarism

The director of a Paris journalism school has been accused of plagiarism. Agnes Chauveau, who contributes articles to the Huffington Post, is said to have cut and pasted material from Le Monde and other French media outlets.

Chateau is said to be "on leave" following the launch of an investigation by the dean at Sciences Po, one of the leading universities in Paris.

The allegations were made at the weekend by the media website Arrets sur Images (freeze frame), which showed screen shots of the plagiarised content, highlighting the parts that were said to have been copied.

The site quoted Chauveau - who is also a producer at the public radio channel France Culture - as saying that she occasionally "forgot to mention certain papers, but never voluntarily".

Sciences Po dean, Bruno Patino, emailed students and faculty to say: "Plagiarism is a serious affair in journalism" and the school "cannot take such things lightly".
