Paris Jackson opens up about ‘intense betrayal’ after split from boyfriend Gabriel Glenn

Michael Jackson’s only daughter has talked about her painful break-up from her musician boyfriend.

Paris told her friend Willow Smith on streaming confessional show Red Table Talk, that while this was the biggest relationship she has had, its ending was also the most traumatic.

'It was the deepest I ever loved someone,” she said. “It was the most intense I've felt so far and the most intense betrayal I felt so far and experienced.”

The singer did not disclose how the relationship had ended, but said that she will now be more careful in the future about falling in love again.

“It's definitely closed me off to that, I'm very careful with who I spend time with now and very guarded and trying to protect myself,” she added.

The 24-year-old was a member of The Soundflowers, a folk-rock duo with her former boyfriend, Gabriel. They performed together for two years, although she admitted that towards the end of their relationship they were “constantly butting heads.”

But despite feeling betrayed, Paris says that she has learnt something from the break-up.

It was the deepest heartbreak I ever experienced," she said. "But also it was one of the most powerful rebirths I've ever had in finding my voice and finding my sound and embracing being a musician.

"I was scared to do that for a long time. Finally, I'm just like, this is who I am, I'm a musician."

Paris, who believes in astrology, suspects that there was a conflict between them from the start. “'We both have double stubborn energy.

"I've always known I was stubborn, and I knew that he was stubborn because he's a Taurus.' She continued that while she was adamant she and Gabe were meant to be together, it may not be as lovers.

“I don't think soulmates are specifically just romantic partners,” she said. “In one life Gabe was probably my daughter. And in another life he was probably my grandpa and then in another life he was probably my worst enemy."

She continued, “Gabe showed me love does exist, not just in the movies, and it's not as pretty as it looks in the movies. It can get ugly and it can be more beautiful than described in the movies and it is possible.”

Paris doesn't want to label herself as bisexual as she has dated "more than just men and women."

When Paris was born, her godparents were announced as Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor and child star Macaulay Culkin. She was only 11 when her father died and went to live with Jackson’s mother, her grandmother. She says she identifies as Black, having been brought up in Black culture.

Her mother is Debbie Rowe, a white dermatologist that Jackson reportedly paid to have children.

Paris has known interviewer Willow, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith for several years. On the show, the pair also discussed several sensitive issues like their family’s views on homosexuality, their suicide attempts and they bonded over the challenges they faced allowing non-celebrities into their homes and lives.

Paris' latest acting role is playing a lesbian Jesus in the controversial movie Habit, which has not yet been given a UK premiere date after more than 270,000 people signed a petition to ban its release.
