Paris Hilton has been called out by fans for wearing a bejewelled mesh face mask as she headed out to dinner amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The 39-year-old wore a gorgeous white lace, semi-sheer dress to visit Madeo in Los Angeles with her boyfriend Carter Reum and a group of friends.
To complete the ensemble Paris wore white court heels and carried a white handbag.
But all eyes were on the rhinestone-encrusted mesh face covering she wore to match.
With the entire mask apparently covered in holes, people were baffled as to how it would protect her and others from the virus.
However it's not clear is there is a lining underneath which may offer protection.
And it didn't take long for people to comment on it.
One person joked: "Paris Hilton's bedazzled mesh face mask. Rubbish against viruses, but perfect for those awkward days when no one's talking about you."
Another added: "Someone should tell Paris Hilton wearing a protective face mask is not a fashion accessory."
A third said: "Paris Hilton’s Rhinestone Face Mask Is Remarkably Pointless."
And: "This pretty much sums up the absolute STUPIDITY of where the world finds itself right now!" commented a fourth.
However, Paris' representatives say the mesh mask did have a lining inside.
Paris has also launched her own range of face masks which she sells on her new Paris Hilton Merch Store.
There are eight different varieties of the cotton masks to choose from.
Each mask is printed with one of her most famous catchphrases, like "Loves It," "Sliving," - which is a combination of the words slaying and living - and "That's Hot."
Paris recently revealed that she is spending her time in quarantine with her boyfriend Carter, who she has been dating since the end of last year.
