Paris Fury admits 'relief' after Tyson's life changing diagnosis

Paris Fury has admitted she was relieved when her husband was diagnosed with his mental health conditions.

The Loose Women panellist was interviewed by Martin Lewis and Susanna Reid on today's Good Morning Britain.

Paris was talking to the broadcasters about her new book, Love and Fury, which documents her husband Tyson Fury's struggle with mental health.

The world heavyweight champion has been open about his personal battles - and Paris said it was easier to accept his actions once he received the diagnosis he was bipolar and had OCD.

She said: "I think it was a pure relief and it kind of cemented that we wasn't just wondering what was going on with Tyson anymore.

"From going out with Tyson as a young girl I always knew that there was something different about him and there was always these demons lurking there."

Paris continued: "We never knew there was an actual reason, but once he got diagnosed it did make it so much easier to accept all those things he was going through and I understood it a little bit more.

"He's not just a bad person, he's not just doing these things that I found at the time to be a little bit selfish just because he wants to - it was actually an illness."

Paris was fully supportive of her husband talking about his issues - and she hopes being open about her own struggles can help people can provide comfort for people in a similar situation.

She added: "I don't have them issues, but once I understood it, I knew I had felt really alone and I had some bad times just dealing with it."

Paris continued: "I know that other people who are supporting their partners have been through that situation and they asked how did you deal with it so I hope there's a bit of relief in there that you can come through these times."

Paris interview was a hit with fans on Twitter who praised her honesty in opening up about sensitive topics.

@TellyChat_ said: "Paris Fury is so down to earth."

Bowie added: "Paris Fury …. What a beautiful soul."

Colin commented: "What an absolute great lady and mother Paris Fury is brilliant guest."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITVHub
