Paris Fashion Week: The best accessories from Jacquemus including micro-bags and fabric earrings

If you’ve ever been confused about the saying “size matters”, look no further than Jacquemus’ latest collection at Paris Fashion Week for clarification.

On 25 February, French fashion designer unveiled his autumn/winter 2019-2020 collection dubbed, "La Collectionneuse", which was a tribute to his hometown of Mallemort in south-eastern France.

Located in a warehouse, the runway was converted into a charming provincial French town square named “Place Jacquemus”, where models wore a range of oversized suits, bloc colours, and culottes.

The designer also celebrated his love of both micro and macro accessories, debuting a range of micro-bags, thigh-high clog-soled fishing boots, and photo frame earrings containing images of himself as a child.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Jacquemus has played with dimensions on the catwalk.

At the designer’s spring/summer Summer 2018-2019 runway, the 29-year-old debuted Le chapeau Bomba – a handcrafted straw hat measuring over 30cm high and nearly 60 cm wide.

The popularity of the hat, worn by Rihanna and Jessica Chastain on social media, resulted in its own fan art on Tumblr, over 300 posts for the tag #jacquemushat on Instagram, and the factory that produced the bag to run out of straw.

The design later inspired Jacquemus' spring/summer 2019-2020 standout accessory – an oversized straw beach bag called Le Baci raffia tote.
