Isis has been thoroughly deflated in a powerful editorial by The Project, following the group’s announcement they are responsible for the Paris attacks that left 129 people dead.
The programme’s host, Waleed Aly, cast doubt over Isis’ accountability for the seven co-ordinated attacks across Paris, saying the group are “weak” and “don’t want you to know it”.
"They take credit for any act of terrorism on Western soil, so they appear bigger and tougher than they actually are,” said Mr Aly.
Mr Aly said Isis has admitted to taking credit for attacks not in direct association with the group in its monthly magazine Dabiq. In October last year the magazine read: “It is important that the killing becomes attributed to patrons of the Islamic State who have obeyed its leadership… Otherwise, crusader media makes such attacks appear to be random killings.”
Mr Aly said the group’s false image of all-powerful terror aims to divide between Muslims and non-Muslims to create a “great war”.
“Isil don’t want you to know they would quickly be crushed if they ever faced proper army on real battlefield,” said Mr Aly.
“They want you to fear them they want you to get angry they want all of us to become hostile and here’s why Isil’s strategy is to split the world into two camps.”
He concluded by stressing the importance of people “coming together” in defiance of the militant group.
“If you’re a Muslim leader telling your community they have no place here… if you’re someone with a Facebook or Twitter account firing off misguided missives of hate you’re helping Isil and I’m pretty sure that right now none of us wants to help these b**tards.”
The speech has gone viral online, receiving over 200,000 shares and tens of thousands of comments in a matter of hours.
