The MerPol St Helens Twitter account has now posted a clear warning to parents in St Helens asking them to 'take control'.
The tweet, which was posted at 6.10pm on Saturday, January 22, said: "Our officers are currently on foot patrol around The Duckeries as part of the dispersal order in place.
"If your children are out in the area, take control before we do. Thank you."
People responded to the tweet telling officers to "keep up the good work".
The warning also came after a "successful" week of action from officers in St Helens.
The force made 10 arrests which included people aged between 15 to 43 for offences such as assault, domestic violence, racially aggravated criminal damage, theft, rape, burglary, drug driving and handling stolen goods.
Chief Inspector Rob Budden said "It has been a busy week for the team and I am pleased with the outcome, targeting those who may have been committed offences in the past year and beyond as well as more recently.
"I hope this shows the public that we will actively pursue all criminals and although this week has shone a particular focus on Neighbourhood Policing, this activity is carried out daily and will continue throughout the year.”
