As the UK reaches the midway point of the summer holidays, thousands of school shoes are expected to be purchased during the remaining school break, with the retailer predicting to hit peak daily sales on August 27.
Tim Payne, Retail Managing Director at Charles Clinkard said, “Back-to-school season is like our Christmas. As the school holidays come to a close, that’s when we see families often beginning to think about back-to-school uniform and footwear to ensure it all fits perfectly in September.
"However, our sales data shows that due to demand, Saturday 27 August is expected to be the busiest day in the calendar so our recommendation would be to book in a trip in-store within the next two weeks to avoid the rush and to ensure you can purchase your first pick.
“It’s worth booking in advance to avoid busy periods and to come prepared with a few styles in mind. Having quality shoes that last is essential for children who will be running and playing all day, so it’s important that they have the correct footwear to support their feet.”
