Parents warned police could be called over kids using TikTok in school

Children who film videos for TikTok in the school playground could face being excluded - or even reprimanded by police, councils have warned.

The warning has been issued after the rise of a number of dangerous and potentially illegal TikTok trends.

Recent videos shared on the platform have encouraged children to vandalise school bathrooms, the Daily Post reports.

A new trend for December has the sickening name "deck the halls and show your b***s".

Other children have been setting up fake school TikTok accounts and posting inappropriate videos.

Parents are now being warned by councils that pupils are not permitted to film on school premises without permission, nor are they allowed to upload unauthorised short films in the name of their school.

Letters sent to some parents in North Wales said schools will "consider appropriate sanctions for those learners who have filmed and uploaded inappropriate material involving school staff and pupils whilst on school premises."

Parents are also being asked to check children's mobile phones and social media accounts.

The minimum age for a TikTok account is 13, according to the social media giant's terms and conditions.
