Parents warned as school confirms staff member tested positive for Covid-19

Parents at a Nottingham primary school have been contacted after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Fernwood Primary and Nursery school in Wollaton sent a letter to parents on Saturday, May 23, which said all parents of children who were being taught by the member of staff had been informed.

The letter stated the school would follow all recommended cleaning and hygiene procedures.

It states "all other aspects of school life will remain as before".

Councillor Neghat Khan, Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Early Years, Education and Employment, said: “The school contacted parents and carers as soon as it became aware that a member of staff had tested positive for Covid-19.

"It has followed the protocols we have put in place for schools during the pandemic swiftly, sensitively and with due regard for its duty of care to children, staff, parents, carers and the community.”
