Parents shocked to find toy fighter plane plays 'Islamic prayer' instead of jet noises

Parents were shocked to find a toy jet sold on Amazon playing an Islamic prayer instead of making jet noises.

When turned on the toy F-16 plays the prayer that is performed by Muslims during the holy pilgrimage to Mecca.

Unsuspecting uncle, Bjorn Thorpe, bought the toy for his nephew for Christmas: “It sounds like an Arabic chanting, which is pretty unusual,” Mr Thorpe told KING-TV.

“I think we’re kind of confused on how this would happen.”

Several Amazon users expressed their disappointment and have left negative reviews for the product.

“Does not make jet engine noises... Plays a very disturbing Middle Eastern song or chant or prayer... Sending it back ASAP!! Very disappointed!!” said Amazon user Jason.

Another user left a similarly disappointing review: “Not as advertised. Does not play jet noises. Plays an Arabic chant that is extremely bizarre for a child's toy.”

The toy company, WolVol, blames its manufacturer and believes they have been mistakenly shipped them a bad batch of toys, according to the Seattle Times.

Not everyone who ordered the toy around Christmas faced this problem.

User ebw90 said in a review: “My step son will not put this plane down, his had jet sounds not Middle Eastern chants. Not sure if there are duds in each batch. Anyways, super cool toy!”

The toy is now listed as being unavailable on Amazon.
