Parents rush to buy Christmas jumpers that are cheaper than Primark in Black Friday sale

It's known as the 'most wonderful time of the year', but it can all end up getting a bit too expensive. With children making their lengthy wish lists, schools wanting tombola prizes and grotto trips to organise, Christmas is certainly a dear do.

So with Christmas Jumper Day just a fortnight away, on December 8, it's no surprise that parents are looking round for the best deals.

But it seems one store is proving more popular than ever for the festive wear, probably because it's selling some of its jumpers cheaper than Primark.

In fact everything on the Peacocks website has 20% off for Black Friday - and it means that some of the children's tops are down to just £8.

There are a number of character jumpers including Rudolph and Christmas tree designs, reduced to £8 for up to ages 5-6, £8.80 for 7-8 and 9-10 and £9.60 for 11-12.

This older girls reindeer fairisle jumper is down to £9.60 at Peacocks for example...while a similar knitted jumper from Primark is £11.

Primark is however well known for having popular brands like Minecraft, Marvel and The Simpsons and shopping just got easier there with the launch of its click and collect trial on kidswear.

Customers can shop from up to 2,000 items across baby, kids and decorative nursery products and toys - including hundreds of new items and ranges exclusive to its click and collect - and then arrange to collect the items from the store.

Peacocks, which is offering free click and collect or standard delivery on orders over £30, isn't the only retailer reducing Christmas jumpers for Black Friday.

Matalan has 20% off 'almost everything' if you use the code BLACKFRI20 at the online checkout.

It means the cost this light-up dinosaur Christmas jumper for example, is down from £16 to £12.80.

Earlier this week we revealed how one mum had found her bargain Christmas jumpers at Poundland.

Ash, who goes by the TikTok username @ashreid_, shared her glee on the social media site, telling parents: "This is your sign to get your kids' jumpers organised now for the school Christmas jumper day. I'm organised in November this year, instead of running around like crazy two days before."

Praising the two jumpers she picked up for £7 and £8, she added: "They're not overly expensive, but they're also sort of traditional."
