Parents rave about £3 'elf surveillance' cameras that stop their kids being naughty

Just like our parents used to tell us we'd get coal in our stockings if we were naughty before Christmas , there's now a modern day version of the same age-old behaviour warning.

So if your little ones are beginning to wise up to the idea that Father Christmas may not always be watching them, the brand behind elf on the shelf has come up with a very handy (and realistic) alternative...

As you can now get a mock CCTV camera that promises to report any bad behaviour to the big man himself.

Setting you back just £3.34 on Amazon , it has a flashing red light fitted into it for extra realism.

Amazon Prime customers may want to splash out a few extra pennies and pick up the £3.95 option instead , which comes with free delivery on Prime.

The CCTV camera has received plenty of happy reviews on Amazon so far, with one parent confirming that it "makes children behave!"

They added, "my son thinks he's being watched and listened to by Santa and has been a dream since I've 'installed' the cam.. I'll probably leave it up all year!".

Meanwhile another customer called it "worth every penny", stating "my daughter's face was priceless when she saw that our Christmas elf placed this on our wall to keep an eye to make sure she was on the good list, worked a treat just hoping she'll fall for it next year too".
