The parents of a 15-year-old boy shot on the Northwest Side after a police pursuit have filed a lawsuit against one of the men officers were chasing.
Attorneys for the boy’s parents said Monday the suit is about gaining “access to the evidence” from the incident, rather than obtaining money from the accused bank robber.
“The only thing we know is what we’ve seen from the media,” attorney Tim Cavanagh told reporters at his downtown office.
Rylan Wilder, a 15-year-old budding guitarist, was shot in the arm and abdomen Tuesday evening inside UpBeat Music and Arts on the Northwest Side. At the time, Chicago and Des Plaines police were pursuing an alleged bank robber.
More to come.
