Parents love mum's hack to warm up paddling pool water using a balloon

The scorching sunshine is here and thousands of Brits will be breaking out the back garden paddling pools to cool off.

Once you've finished sending yourself dizzy attempting to blow it up because you can't find the footpump, all that's left to do is fill it up ready for a dip.

Many of us use the garden tap and a hose to get the job done, but the freezing cold water - although refreshing at first - means our visits to the pool are usually short and sharp.

But rather than waiting for the sun to heat the water to a more bearable temperature, one mum has shared her hack to use warm water to speed things up.

All you need is an unused balloon (Facebook)

The crafty parent has devised a way to use the pleasant temperatures of indoors taps with the help of a simple balloon.

Sharing the tip to the 'Craft n' Creations, diy n’ tips' Facebook page, she explained that she cuts the round section off an unused balloon, leaving her with the tube section used to tie it.

She then connects one end to her kitchen sink and the other to the garden hose, bypassing the need for a tap adaptor.

It means you don't need to head out to buy a tap adaptor (Facebook)

The tap should face the same way the hose is travelling to put the least amount of stress on the balloon.

Warm water can then easily be sent to the paddling pool outside to top up the temperature.

Adding that you don't need tape to hold it in place but it may help, the mum wrote: "Works everytime. End up with warm pool. Enjoy the nice weather. Hope it works for you all."

The post proved very popular with other parents, who vowed to try it out for themselves and thanked the mum for sharing her handy hack.

One said: "No need to buy a tap adapter now!"

Another replied: "Now we know for next time."

A third added: "I'm surprised we didn't think of this!"
