Parents left worried at what they see on school run

A car ended up on a wall outside a primary school this morning.

The black Volkswagen Tiguan was pictured with the front end of the car on top of a wall outside Pinfold Primary School in Scarisbrick on Friday September 3.

No injuries were reported from the incident, with it being a damage only collision.

Mandy Steele, whose child goes to Pinfold Primary School, told the ECHO : "All I know is 2 cars pulled out at the same time, one from the junction facing school, the black car was coming from opposite side heading to Ormskirk, that all I know so far."

The cause of the crash isn't clear, but people have been quick to give their opinions on the junction of Pinfold Lane and Southport Road.

One person wrote on Mandy's Facebook post: "I am near a school and the driving and parking is ridiculous. Mostly parents though. Accident waiting to happen."

Another agreed and wrote: "Big bush needs cutting down at the school that’s not helping coming out the Junction."

Another user blamed the drivers. They said: "The road is not dangerous, it’s clearly sign posted to indicate a junction ahead and the school crossing, the lights to say it’s school time are on.

"It’s the drivers that are dangerous."

One resident is adamant that the junction is dangerous. They wrote: "It is such a bad junction. I live on Pinfold Lane and the visibility turning right onto Southport Road is terrible, made worse by drivers going too fast. This junction should have traffic lights."
