Families are being reminded about the deadline to apply for secondary school places for next year.
Parents with children currently in their last year at primary school must apply now for the secondary school they want their child to attend in September 2020.
And you've got just weeks left to do it, as the deadline for applications is Thursday, October 31.
Applying late means you have less chance of getting your preferred school and you might find there is a delay in being offered a school.
Parents are encouraged to make at least three preferences of schools and to rank their choices.
The easiest way to apply is online and parents should have already received a letter with a unique identifying number for their child to speed up the online process.
Councillor Luthfur Rahman, Manchester City Council’s lead member for schools, said: "Choosing a high school is a big commitment and a real investment in a child's future, so parents should make sure they find out as much as they can before they apply.
"Once parents have done this it's vital that they don't miss the admission deadline on 31 October.
"Late applications are not dealt with until after all on-time applications, and parents stand far less chance of getting one of their preferred schools."
