Parents Day 2022 Quiz: Which type of parents do you have

Parents Day is observed on the fourth Sunday of July every day. This year Parents Day will be observed on July 24. The word "Parents" brings in a sense of respect, reverence, faith, hope, trust, positivity, joy and responsibility. Parents are those pillars in an individual's life that are resistant to every form of corrosion like distress and negativity.

This parents day remembers all the hardships they have made to make life easier for you, everything they have sacrificed to give the best life to you. Thank them for being the friend, the guide and the motivator in your life.

Parents Day 2022: 10 common arguments we remember having with our Mom, Dad

To make this Parents Day an interesting one, here's a wonderful quiz for you to know what type of parents you have. While on one hand it might seem a fun game, if you think deeply it might help you understand your parents and might also solve any differences you have with them.

Authoritarian Parents

Are your parents too strict?Do you ever feel left out in family discussions?Do your parents punish you or had punished you often during childhood? Do they always have high expectations from you? Do they always involve themselves in your school/ college activities? If you get more than 3 Yes' then congratulations you have the strictest parents among all.

But that does not mean it's wrong or not okay to have strict parents. This type of parenting brings out the most well-behaved kids, experts say. These parents believe that being harsh helps in molding a child the way they want them to be. These parents are different from other parents in decision making, and establishing rules for their kids. They are overprotective too.

Authoritative Parents

Do your parents communicate with you more than often?Do they always make you aware of the expectations and the rules they have for you?Do they deny your demands but in a mild (or in a tactical) way?Do they sense your mood and ask you about it?Do they talk to you about your friends?Only those who have authoritative parents can get more than 3 Yes'. As per a report, authoritative parenting results in children who are confident, responsible, and able to self-regulate. They can manage their negative emotions more effectively, which leads to better social outcomes and emotional health. Since these parents also encourage independence, their children will learn that they are capable of accomplishing goals on their own. This results in children who grow up with higher self-esteem. Also, these children have a high level of academic achievement and school performance.

Permissive parents

Do your parents ever talk to you about their expectations? Do they ever impose anything on you?Do they downright deny your requests for a vacation or a sleepover?Do they stop you from being with friends?Do they monitor your screen time?Well, if you have permissive parents you ought to get more than 3 No's. While these are the dream parents of every child, there are downsides to this. With no restriction, these kids tend to get wayward more easily than others. This may affect their eating habits too, as kids are prone to unhealthy eating. While these parents are an absolute delight to be, less imposition of rules on kids makes the kids demanding and impulsive.

Uninvolved parents

Do your parents ever deny you going to a movie?Do they ever question you if you come home late?Do they ask you how you spend your pocket money?Do they talk to you about your friends?Do they sit with you and talk to you about life goals?Uninvolved parents have limited communications with their kids. They are involved with their kid's life as little as required. While these kids grow up handling their own emotions, sometimes they may get wayward due to lack of proper guidance. They also tend to have difficulty in nurturing their own relationships when they grow up.
