Parents have been given a letter informing them of an attempted child abduction in an area of Nottingham.
The letter, seen by Nottinghamshire Live, was handed out to parents at the gates of Westglade Primary School in Top Valley this afternoon (June 10).
The head teacher writes: "I am sure some of you are aware that there was an attempted abduction of a child around a local school last night (June 9)."
While the incident happened at a different school site, the letter stated Westglade had received an increasing number of phone calls from parents asking to alter gate arrangements.
But the letter stated this could "potentially impact on our security measures" and given these recent events, parents were asked to stick to allocated time slots.
It added: "It is also important that children are kept close to adults on the walk to and from school.
"I am sorry to send you such a worrying letter but is is so important you are kept informed about these types of events."
Nottinghamshire Police has been contacted for more information about the attempted abduction.
It has not currently been confirmed which school the incident took place at.
