Parents and kids design hotel suite of their dreams - and you can now book stays

What would your dream hotel suite involve? Well, that's exactly the question that was posed to a number of parents and their children.

In fact, the families were tasked with designing a brand new family hotel suite for the Park Plaza London Riverbank hotel which would fit the bill - and they delivered.

We're talking chalkboard walls for kids to scribble on, neon lights, and a bunk bed room for kids with plenty of surprises including a trunk full of interactive games, and a projector to transform the children's room at bedtime.

The suite features two rooms, so parents can have a little haven of their own thanks to the elegant double room which offers some beautiful views of London, and has all the luxurious amenities you need for a comfortable stay including a huge bed.

Oh, and there are even fun personalised experiences - for example, giving kids the chance to choose the theme of their room including superhero, princess, sport and enchanted forest. Other perks include booking sweet treats (and a night cap for parents), before guests even arrive at the hotel.

The best part is that the families' creation has been brought to life, as a brand new permanent offering at the London hotel - and you can book stays from £179 a night. (Of course for those on a budget, there are plenty of brilliant cheap hotels in London).

The suite was designed after Park Plaza partnered with Room To Grow when research revealed that 71 per cent of adults believe hotel rooms are designed with grown-ups in mind, rather than children.

It's therefore not surprising that the study showed 40 per cent of children can be 'bored' on a holiday.

The hotel therefore chose to create a design team involving guests and children, consulting them on just what makes a brilliant hotel room for families.

An extra feature for families will see a dedicated concierge service exclusively for guests of the Park Plaza Ultimate Family Suite, who can help them plan their trip and create a personalised itinerary including things to see and do.
