A couple who wanted a big family now have eight children after adopting five siblings who had been separated in foster care.
Ali and Thomas Bonura first became foster parents to little Bryson straight from the hospital after he was born.
But when they found out he had four older siblings also in foster care, they asked if they could reunite them and look after all five.
The Bonuras later discovered they were all up for adoption and after a two-year process, they were finally legally a family during a zoom call in lockdown.
Mum Ali said it seems like her five adopted and three biological children have been together all their lives.
She explained her eldest son, Joey, was born with a twin who died at about five months old.
She told CBS News: "When we lost Eli, we were told we couldn't have any more children, and we were devastated.
"And we actually started looking at adoption then, but for some amazing reason, we had two more daughters that were a complete shock."
But after welcoming twin daughters Sadie and Daphne, doctors advised her not to get pregnant again.
So they decided that they would become foster parents.
They collected little Bryson straight from the neo-natal intensive care unit.
The mum said: "We didn't think we would have him forever or anything. We were there to love him for now. But we found out he had siblings."
The couple are now parents to twins Thomas and Carter, eight, David, six, Gabrielle, four and two-year-old Bryson, as well as their biological children.
She added that the lockdown in Texas, USA due to coronavirus has allowed the family to bond and has been great for the children.
Ali added: "They love each other and they support each other and they look out for each other.
"They're so proud to be brothers and sisters."
