Choosing the perfect baby name is no mean feat, with the very personal choice often facing strong opinions from friends and family members.
In 2020, the most popular choices for girls were Grace, Fiadh, Emily, Sophie and Ava.
The top five picks for boys were Jack, James, Noah, Daniel and Conor.
For new parents, while it's one thing choosing something quirky, or unique, some names just leave you shaking your head.
It seems there are dozens of names that can get people worked up - 100 of them to be precise.
That's according to parenting site, Emma's Diary, who recently shared their thoughts on the top 100 'worst' baby names of all time.
None of the top ten names popular among Irish parents make the list.
However, there are certainly some other picks very popular among people in Ireland.
Some of the names featured are more commonly associated with other items - Flora, Maybelline, Chardonnay - while some seem like perfectly fine names, but were included for their unusual spellings, as the Liverpool Echo reports.
There's also names in the list that are associated with songs - Alice, Alice, who the f*** is Alice - while others, like Boris, are associated with high profile people and need no further explanation.
Of course, the list is intended to be a bit of fun, with no offence intended and Emma’s Diary encourages parents-to-be to use whatever name they love, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
