Parcels containing 183kg of kratom leaves seized

SONGKHLA: Police have seized 114 parcels containing 183 kilogrammes of kratom leaves at a logistics firm in Hat Yai district.

Hat Yai narcotics suppression police on Thursday inspected the parcels at the company's premises on Kanchanawanit Road in tambon Ban Phru of Hat Yai.

The senders fled before police arrived. 

The parcels were addressed to people in several provinces.

The team, led by Pol Lt Phitchayet Choomuang, made note of the details of the senders and recipients on the packages. The investigation will be expanded, he said 

It was initially believed the kratom leaves were sold and ordered online.
