Parcel locker ransacked and emptied in Blackley as thieves steal packages

A parcel locker has been ransacked and emptied in north Manchester.

Thieves targeted the InPost locker, a collection and drop-off point for parcels, in Charlestown Road, Blackley.

Uliana Musykevych, 34, was walking back from Whitemoss Pharmacy when she spotted the parcel locker with all the doors open at shortly before 9am on Tuesday

She then inspected the locker and saw signs of damage on the doors.

Uliana, from Blackley, told the Manchester Evening News: "It looked like somebody used a crowbar or something hard to break into the locker and open the doors.

"I think someone has taken all the parcels inside because all the doors were open.

"Even the electricity box was open. There were scratches on the doors."

Ms Musykevych added that the display screen was working as normal.

"Our retail partners affected by this incident have been contacted.

"We take the security of the goods in our care very seriously and have reported this incident to Greater Manchester Police to take forward and investigate.”
